PPE POLICY

Object: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is defined in the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 2002 as meaning all equipment, which is intended to be worn or held by a person who is at work and which protects him or her against one or more risks to his or her health and safety.

SAFETY POLICY

Object: This document provides the core standards that must be achieved by all, MCSI LTD staff to ensure compliance with legal requirements. It also offers guidance on how to achieve these standards. It is intended to provide relevant information to managers, supervisors and employees, to enable them to undertake their responsibilities in relation to Health and Safety measures.

FIRST AID POLICY

Object: The MCSI are committed to providing a safe working environment for its employees. Part of ensuring this is the implementation of a First Aid Policy which covers all aspects of work undertaken by MCSI staff.
In general terms employees have a right to expect the MCSI to provide a safe working environment which includes access to First Aid facilities in the case of injury or illness. Staff have an obligation however, to work within the legal requirements and safety rules with regard to safe working conditions. They must ensure that they do not cause accidents or create hazards which may endanger other employees, students or members of the public.

SMOKE FREE POLICY

Object: In August 2012 the MCSI Executives approved a review of the policy covering smoking in the Office and camp.
From 1 January 2013, smoking will be restricted to four designated ‘smoking zones’ at the Offices and camps.

REPORT INCIDENT & RISK POLICY

Object: Risk management is the process of hazard identification, assessment of the hazards risk potential, and the application of controls with the aim of eliminating risks to staff, students and other members of Windsor SERVIZI / UMW community. Essentially, Risk Management is the calculation of two components of risk (R,) – the magnitude of the potential loss (L), and the probability (p), that the loss will occur.

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE AND RESOURCES

Object: In line with the Customer and Safety Policy and the document, and Other appointed Customer safety roles’ (see extract below), the Director of MCSI Ltd has overall responsibility for all matters relating to the health, safety and welfare of all persons employed by MCSI and for ensuring that Customer staff, clients, students, members of the general public and others, who may be affected by the activities and services provided by MCSI are protected, so far as is reasonably practicable, from risk(s) to their health and safety.

SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT GUIDELINES

Object: MCSI is legally responsible for establishing and maintaining a working environment where employees are able to work safely, without risk to their physical and psychological health and welfare. Likewise, employees are obliged to: comply with any legislative requirements and MCSIal policies and procedures; work in accordance with agreed safe work practices; and use all means provided to protect their health and safety. Employer and employee health and safety responsibilities are often prescribed in legislation and supported by regulations, codes of practice and standards. These provide a foundation for guidelines on workplace safety, compensation and rehabilitation.
