CONTINGENCY PLANS FOR STAFF SHORTAGES

Objective: As noted above, contingency arrangements will only be implemented in circumstances and where it is judged necessary because of the scale of impact on the timely completion of Client Contract processes. Contingency arrangements will be implemented to address situations arising from individual staff absences which are addressed through this Guide.

·       To manage attendance levels within the context of concern for the wellbeing of genuinely sick staff. This is balanced by an equal concern for those staff who are left to cover for absent colleagues and for customers who may suffer from reductions in either the level or quality of service through staff absence. This guideline is supplemented by detailed administrative arrangements.

·       Where staff is absent and/or unable to either set or assess work submitted for summative assessment within the period of time required to enable normal or approval processes to occur.

·       Where circumstances affect staff whose absence would prohibit the normal operation of Clients company processes

·       Where Employees are absent or unable to undertake their duties at any time of year that may affects the customer operations
